Recycle your denim

The «RECYCLE YOUR DENIM» take-back initiative was launched by Liu Jo in 2021 to promote a more conscious and circular approach to fashion.

The latest edition of the project concluded in May 2024, involving approximately 130 mono-brand stores across Italy and Europe.

RECYCLE YOUR DENIM

A symbol of Liu Jo’s values and style, denim reveals its essence through the brand’s ongoing recycling initiative. RECYCLE YOUR DENIM is a call to action for respect and sustainability, a collective project that transforms the collection of pre-loved garments into a shared effort toward change.

This initiative is a valuable opportunity to give forgotten denim a second life. By recovering raw materials, we integrate them into a new creative cycle, following the principles of circular economy. Because even a small gesture can make a big difference!

ACT BETTER, FEEL BETTER.

Sustainability is a multifaceted journey. That’s why, with the latest edition of RECYCLE YOUR DENIM, we transformed the denim pants collected in our stores into new accessories. This was made possible through our collaboration with the social enterprise QUID, which, since 2013, has been designing and producing garments and accessories from high-quality surplus fabrics, while also offering employment opportunities to individuals at risk of social exclusion.

The Project with MondoDonna Onlus

Since 2021, we have been committed to giving denim a new life. Since 2021, we have been committed to giving denim a new life. In collaboration with MondoDonna Onlus, through the Social Design Chic project, we have transformed denim unsuitable for recycling into pouches donated to women and children from Ukraine.

Once completed, Liu Jo provided essential items to be placed inside these pouches, which were then distributed to refugees upon arrival.

From collaborations between different organizations, numerous non-profit projects emerge, enriching and inspiring each other in an ever-changing world.
