Liu Jo’s 2025 Roadmap for Certified Raw Materials
In 2025, Liu Jo updated its responsible sourcing strategy, introducing a new roadmap to transition towards the use of certified and sustainable raw materials. While this shift has led to a temporary decrease in the percentage of garments made with certified materials compared to 2024, it reflects a more rigorous and conscious approach aimed at creating real, long-term impact.
A More Selective Strategy for a Greater Environmental and Social Impact
The revision of the preferred materials list has resulted in a stricter selection process for accepted certifications. From now on, only product-based certifications will be considered, always trying to prefer those that guarantee both environmental and social responsibility. Certifications promoted by corporate groups or associations were excluded due to insufficient guarantees in terms of impact reduction and transparency.
A Temporary Reduction, a Strategic Move
As a direct consequence of this new, more selective strategy, the percentage of garments labeled “Better” dropped from 50% in 2024 to 37% in 2025. This reduction does not signify a step back but marks the beginning of a more transparent and rigorous process, focused on quality certification over quantity.
More Certifications, More Value in “Better” Garments
Demonstrating this commitment, in the latest collection, 80% of garments labeled “Better” contain over 50% certified raw materials. This milestone underscores Liu Jo’s growing focus on traceability, reliability, and material integrity in its collections.
Laying the Foundation for a Transparent and Sustainable Future
Liu Jo continues to invest in a more ethical, conscious, and transparent fashion model, renewing its efforts every year to refine raw material selection and strengthen the real value of sustainability certifications. The brand’s forward-looking strategy includes the progressive expansion of certified materials, supported by an integrated approach that considers both environmental and social impact.
