Special fashion can only be truly special when it combines creativity with effective support to those in need.
ANT: Charitable giving is worth more than one thousand words.
Our years-long partnership with ANT, a charity providing free specialist healthcare in the homes of cancer patients without any cost for families, is part of our attempt to help people with passion and care.
We have been working with ANT in quite a lot of fundraising campaigns, such as:
– Charity auctions and fashion shows
– Special projects, such as «A ciascuno il suo abito»
– Sponsorship of charity lotteries
Smile Project: Let’s give a smile to children in Eritrea.
Since 2015, the Smile Project has been working to support facilities engaged in the rehabilitation, training and social inclusion of disadvantaged children in Eritrea, through targeted projects. We have been working with Smile Project for a few years now, regularly providing a wide selection of items from earlier seasons to enable this charity to organise seasonal fundraising sales.
MondoDonna Onlus is a non-profit association that was founded in Bologna in the early 1990s and has now become a point of reference for combating gender-based violence, for welcoming migrant women and families and generally for supporting people with fragilities. In June 2022, the multidisciplinary approach of MondoDonna Onlus together with Liu Jo led to an interesting charitable initiative, a symbol of ethical and creative collaboration in which hospitality and fashion met in a wonderful union of good intentions.
Denim items unsuitable for the Recycle Your Denim drive have been donated to MondoDonna Non-profit for the Social Design Chic project, a dressmaking workshop for social integration that is an example of ethical fashion, because it unites social value with high-quality products. These denim items have been turned into clutch bags to be given to women and children from Ukraine upon arrival. Liu Jo also provided the items that were put inside the clutch bags.
After the flood that hit our region in May 2023, Liu Jo wanted to show its support to people in the affected areas, with a donation to the Emilia-Romagna regional charity and by collecting necessities donated to the regional civil defence and the Emergency humanitarian organisation.
L’Ora del Noi
L’Ora Del Noi, a Social Promotion Association based in Sassuolo, Modena, was founded with the intention of fostering as much as possible the autonomy of people with different abilities and their integration into society and the job market. The association provides one-year dressmaking courses supported by workshops, and our model/product department has assisted with making the garments, by providing suitable fabrics to make a bridal gown and letting some female models participate in the graduation fashion show.
